Still wondering about the gloves in the shower? Hahahahaaa ... Okay, sorry....just having one of "thooooose" days. You know.....one of those days when you really shouldn't interact with others. My sarcasm levels are running high...backing away slowly........

Glad to hear the problem is resolved. If you feel it was caused by something your hand were in contact with, I suggest something called Silicone Glove if it flares up again. It is a cream that coats your skin with silicone and prevents chemicals from actually touching the skin. I used to be a beautician and the constant exposure to shampoos, chemicals, etc. did a number on my hands. An old timer recommended Silicone Glove and it worked very well. Avon puts it out, and I used to get another version from the pharmacist as well. I still recommend Bag Balm for overnight healing.

Rusty gym equipment is the most possible cause. I was feeling slightly irritated once again yesterday while lifting weights.

I have same problem. Sometimes 4 - 5 knuckles bled in the same time. It is a normal occurence in the winter.
I swear by AVEENO.
Get the daily moisturizing one. Green cap.
Anytime you wash your hands, make sure to re-apply again.

I tend to get very dry hands as well, especially in winter, to the point they crack and hurt, and sometimes bleed. I've been using this stuff for a while and found it works well. I haven't had the issues since starting to use this. It's a little pricey compared to other lotions/cremes but you can find it at the usual chain drug stores.

Therapeutic Hand Cream - CeraVe

AARRGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

The rusty gym equipment combined with sweat keeps ruining the skin condition on my hands. Looks like I should wear gloves to the gym .

I'm not really familiar with public gym equipment or available gym garb, but if it was me, ......being all redneck/countrygirl type and all....I'd be picking myself up a pair of "batting gloves". I'm sure they have weightlifting gloves, but you can't hardly go wrong with a fabulous "pair" of baseball, batting gloves. They're completely flexible. Hey?...perhaps you'd do well to make sure you have some lotion on hand that contains "lanolin"? Seriously though....I think you're spot on on getting gloves to wear to the gym. It's "off season" for baseball, right? So maybe you could pick up some batting gloves for cheap?
