I don't have a "set" price.

Generally speaking:
jeans: $50 (I haven't found many jeans in the $20 range that fit me well, so I had to pay more)
dresses/skirts/pants for work: $120
dress for day: $50
dress shoes: $150
casual shoes: $70
casual tops: $30
dressy tops: $50

I buy cheap stuff often, and spend more on classics, stuff I hope to last.

I buy trendy shoes for cheap, and keep my shoes forever with resoling and other repairs, so I don't feel bad spending more, particularly on the ones I will wear a lot. I definitely have items that haven;t irked out cost/wear so I am a lot more cautious than I used to be (I am looking at you fragile dress shoes!)

I saw that. Hope they have a retirement fund and not pushing grocery store carts at 65

Even though my paycheck is super inflated, I will never pick up anything for more than 100 bucks, unless it's the seasonal Allen Edmonds or Church's shoes which I cannot find easily or it's a suit which I buy once in six months.

My life changed when I learned I was able to pick up a brand new hermes tie for 20 Euros from eBay France, when I found the same print in an NYC store for 650 dollars or something.

"Costly thy habit as thy purse can buy,
But not express'd in fancy; rich, not gaudy
For the apparel oft proclaims the man . . . ."
- Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act I, Scene 3, Lines 70-72

. . .

I spend more than most on clothes; but I don't buy that much. (I'm retired, so I don't need that much in the way of clothing.) Still, I like good clothes - wearing good clothes makes one feel good. Each year, I treat myself to a Kiton suit, a pair of Lattanzi shoes and a few Brioni shirts and ties. I may be old and ugly, but at least I'm well dressed.

Very curious now. Why??

Middle aged adults here love them. Especially the Italians.

I don't understand why you would pay $150 for women's dress shoes when my mom bought an expensive, yet sleek pair of shoes for $ 66.00. They look really nice, and Ma says they are super comfy as well. They have lasted for well over a year now and show no sign of wear.

I would not pay more than 2500 of anything and that is national dress (handmade etc.)

Then not more than 400 of some certain things with high quality.

Regular clothes not more than 100.

From second hand stores people are able to find lewis etc $ 3 in good shape. If that is appreciated.

My regular t-shirt is about 8 but I fill up some stuff on it so it might cost more in the end. But I wear my clothes till very end no matter how expensive or cheap. Just trashed my 2 college pants because found them with 2 big holes (I was able to put my hand through).

My oldest clothes are about 20 years old and still in very nice condition

I tend to get mine at the thrift store. There's more of a selection anyway.
