I am older and I still use a wallet, but I gave up the all in one with checkbook awhile ago. I now carry a small wallet.

If you know this lady, then observe what she uses when she shops. Make her an improved version of the one she uses now.

Young women don't use wallets necessarily.

I use a "wallet," but it's actually a wristlet. It carries everything I need in a wallet -- cards, license, cash -- but I can wear it around my wrist on nights I don't want to bother with a purse.

Wallets are one of those surprisingly personal things for both genders -- people have so many varying preferences in their wallet's function/size/shape that I think it would be hard to give as a gift unless you know them extremely well.

Thanks everyone. I gave her the wallet the other day because it was the last time I was going to see her before the holidays and she liked it.
