This happened to me this morning and I was livid. The drycleaner is one I have gone to for about 6 mos and has never misplaced anything before. An older couple owns the place and uses handwritten receipts. The receipt has a lot of scratches out and I think the woman who did it just got confused.

OF COURSE they would never admit that they did ANYTHING wrong. I had to insist that I didn't pay for the cleaning-- the dress they lost cost about 5 times what my bill was. It was human error, but still maddening as it is a dress I wear to a lot of holiday events.

Anyone have this happen? Frustrating isn't it?

Yes it is and they should pay for the replacement of the dress and I know this cause I work for an attorney and you would not believe how many times this comes up . Im sorry but five times is alot of money take them to court and get the replacement value of the dress or one like it and I can tell you to get two to three values from different stores and maybe the same one you bought it from . Good luck to you and I cannot believe they did not offer to replace it ...

They lost your dress and then tried to get you to still pay for the cleaning?

I mean, it's up to you, but obviously it was a very expensive dress. You might consider suing in small claims court if its worth it to you getting the depreciated value of the dress and/or for the principle of the matter. Sounds like they deserve it if they were't even apologetic!

A new and lingwood block pink check shirt. They don't sell that kind of stuff in America and I was LIVID.

And how is that it disappears immediately after the women ask me about the shirt and I tell them the details and how it was made and stuff. From a rack of one millions shirt, mine alone disappears.

I was pissed off even more when they won't give me cash and instead offered me a coupon for free drycleaning to equal the cost of the shirt
