Check out the "Pandora" line at any jewelry chain... they have a variety of charms and you can either do a necklace or bracelet.

I want to buy a jewelry to my girlfriend but I am not sure what kind of jewelry should I buy. I find lots of jewelry on this website:[Mod cut: new members cannot post links to commerce websites] Would you tell me which one should I get as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend?

Giver a Hershey Kiss and tell her it is a chocolate diamond.

I'm bemused by all the suggestions to not purchase on the internet. If you find something she likes, why should she care where you purchase it? Just thought I'd chime in that an aversion to internet gifts isn't universal among women.

I like to make jewelry as presents and when I am trying to decide what to put together for someone I ask questions like:

1. What kind of jewelry do they wear most frequently (necklace, bracelets, etc)?
2. What scale of jewelry to they wear? (delicate, large and bold?)
3. If earrings, do they like posts or dangly earrings? Big or small? Most people fall into a definite size range for earrings. I am used to small earrings and actually find very large ones uncomfortable.
4. Do they tend towards gold or silver tones? Or something less formal like leather bands?
5. What colors to they tend to wear (in either jewelry or clothes).
6. Do they like formal or less formal jewelry?

Based on the one sample you posted, I would look for gold tones and warm colors, not too large a scale. That necklace is reasonably classic but with a slightly modern twist due to the assymmetry of the beads. But only you know if the rest of her collection shares those characteristics.

Oh, and if you are looking for something unusual, Etsy has a large collection of interesting handmade jewelry online, tons of stuff in your price range.

I like bracelets because you can actually see them and enjoy them. Make sure you get the best quality.

I'm not sure I'd agree with this. My "nice" jewelry tends to sit in drawers and not get out very much. I much prefer slightly lower priced but nicely made jewelry that has an interesting design. With the OP's budget he probably will be quite limited in what he can pick out if he is going for, say, precious gemstones but could find some stunning crystal pieces for that budget.

I think it depends on the person. I always wear earrings but hardly ever wear necklaces. I would much rather be gifted earrings, as I would get a lot more use out of them.

Why would it be surprising that someone wanted earrings? I don't see how they are "completely unromantic" and yet somehow a necklace is just oh so romantic?

I have seen on blogs and on people monogram initial necklace that are abstract looking that are pretty. If you google it some examples will come up.
Another thought was her birthstone in simple stud earrings or a drop necklace.

It seems too simple as a Christmas gift.
