I know that may seem like a silly question since it's obviously for me to decide, but then I thought just what the hey and get a tattoo soon.

I have a reasonable pain tolerance, but it's more the design i'm worried about not it hurting.

What style would look good?

that's not me, but i'd like something similar to that.

If you're asking "which design will look good"?, then you shouldn't be getting a tattoo in the first place.

No tattoo looks good and they only get worse with age. Don't know if your male or female but a tattoo on a woman looks like S__T !

ok, so this is why many people have tattoos, and not just ruffians and sailors as older generations thought?

Agree with this.

If you have something in mind, go ahead. For many people its meaningful or symbolic. Not something you shop for to be trendy/edgy...or mainstream.

Whatever design you choose, consider that health issues may cause you to gain substantial weight - and/or lose it. So the design needs to be one that will expand without looking hideous and then to still not look like something out of Alfred Hitchcock upon reaching a wrinkly age.

Printout on a piece of paper, the design you think you want and stick it to your refrigerator--somewhere you'll see it every day. After 30 days, if you still like it, then I say go for it. If not, print another one out and do the same thing. If, after several months of changing each design for one you like better, then don't get any tattoos. If you can't stand looking at it for 30 days without wanting to change it, then you darn well shouldn't get one permanently.

The above advice, coming from a popular tattoo artist!
