I've determined what colors I look good in and built up my wardrobe accordingly. Shades of green and burgundy with basic black and smatterings of navy and warm browns work well with my skin tone. I also choose styles that work for my body type... any styles that create the best silhouette. I see my fashion choices as an exercise in knowing my strengths and limitations... regardless of the season.

Oh, and I forgot to say. I usually wear teal blue T shirts while visiting the shore in summer .

Lighter colors in summer make me look like a fried detainee from Guantanamo. Not what I want to wear.

The color will usually depend on the season.
In Spring and Summer, I usually wear brighter colors - in Summer, I take some of the fluorescent and neon items I have.
In Fall, I wear Fall color: orange, red, brown and all the shades in between. Also dirty yellow and green navy.
In Winter: dark usually black and grey. Sometimes, If I want to add a color punch, some neon. Bright yellow sweater can be paired with all blacks (jeans, coat, etc).
But there are days when I don't give a sh*t and wear whatever I feel like. LOL!

I wear the same colors, but in the winter I tend to stay away from spring/summer prints like florals and polka dots. (Although I've seen some adorable polka dot coats that are sooooo tempting!)

Yes. I never understood that whole "certain colors/certain seasons" thing.

I wear what I want, when I want but that is the joy of being retired and not caring to impress people.

I like looking at myself wearing colorful clothes matching the seasonal spirit, not to impress people.

Not to mention, a pitch black T shirt with a fluorescent print saying "NEW YORK" is one of my all time favorites. I always wear it if I plan on going to the city overnight in summer.
