I've used these all of my life and have always been careful enough not to stick the tip inside my ear. Now I see commercials admonishing ppl not to use them. It features an over zealous guy sticking the tip inside his ear- Ouch! Do most of you still use q-tips to clean your ears?

For my entire life, Q-tips have had warnings not to stick them in your ears. For most of my life I've stuck them in there to clean my ear. Just don't pull a Homer Simpson and shove them all the way in to punish your brain.

I use them every once in a while, but I used to work for an internist and I can't tell you how many people we had to send to the ENT for problems with impacted ear wax.

Ha ha!
Yeah, I do use Q-tips on my ears, but try not to "shove" it in there! Are you refering to that Ear Wax sucking machine and the guy who yells "Ow" when he shoves the Q-tip in his ear? I had a moment watching that!

Yes, I use Q-tips, for more purposes than just my ears (cleaning my keyboard, for example).
I'm very careful not to let the cotton swab too far inside my ear, though. No disasters thus far...
