What can I use to clean the white rubber edge that some sneakers have. I tried regular soap and a toothbrush but it only lightened them slightly.

Scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner - leave on for 5 minutes and wipe off. Repeat, leaving on for five minutes again and wipe off again.

I put my converse shoes in the washing machine every now and again. I don't think it's recommended, but they're fine so far.
