Anything that's comfortable. Tshirt, shorts or sweatpants. Or any pants that have an elastic or tie waistband.

Very true. Have to complete the distance.

And just because your cousin's sister had foot pain driving in heels does not mean all women have foot pain driving in heels.
I had no clue either so don't feel bad. Did I make a Kuddy joke?

If the weather isn't too cold, I usually wear a loose skirt b/c the crotch in jeans or sweats gets uncomfortable after a couple of hours of continually sitting. Moccasins or sandals (not flip-flops) depending on the weather. Oh, and plenty of sunscreen, esp. on the side of my neck, ear and arm on the window side. I've gotten some odd two-tone tans in the summer before!

I have the exact same issue often. Is a light tint on windows legal in the US.

I always wear stretch pants, tee shirt, and a matching light jacket with slip on shoes. The sort of thing that is sold as travel separates. Nothing to pinch and I can peel off the jacket if I get hot in the car.

My DH and I travel to Hawaii once a year and that is a loooong flight from NJ. We go in warm weather so I wear sandals and yoga pants and a short sleeve top, and sweater.

I usually wear walking gym shoes, either jeans or yoga pants, t-shirt and hoodie. If I need a coat that as well but it usually comes off during the trip.

I did make a winter road trip through the upper Midwest in snow and had my coat on the whole time. However, I usually never make such insane choices for road trips.

I had a friend who used to tell me to look very unattractive when doing a road trip alone - she'd always wear a baseball hat, no make-up, and "ugly" clothes as she felt safer that way when travelling alone - I'd have never thought of that!
