I have found that many of the men I know exaggerate about their height. Women, not so much.

I'm a little over 5'9" (female) and I cannot tell you how many men tell me they're 5'10" and they are shorter than me. Then they insist that I'm the one lying about my height and that I must be closer to 6'. Whatever makes you feel better.

If women (and society and the economy in general) didn't discriminate against shorter men, there wouldn't be this problem.

I think some people honestly don't know how tall they are. We have optional biometric screenings at work and some of my coworkers have had their height measured multiple times. One guy was 5'6" the first time and 5'8.5" the second time. Different people measured him each time, though I'm not sure if he wore different shoes. Lifts perhaps lol?

Maybe men lie more about their height....but women lie more about their weight.

I lie a lot about my height .

In reality, I am 5'11 7/8" But claim myself to be 6'1/2".

Oh puh-leeze... That problem exists in these mens heads, and makes them act like you know who - take it from a 6ft tall woman with enough life experience.
And if it weren't for the height, there is always something else that one could think is basis for "discrimination" - weight, presence or lack of hair, color of that hair, make of their car...

Maybe he really didn't know how tall he is, although considering the emphasis men put on height, I doubt it.

A guy I met on a dating site a few months ago said he was 4'4 on his profile. When I met him, it was so funny, he was the same size as me (5'0). I am not picky about height in guys but all I could think was "you're a long way from 5'4 buddy!" He also waited until the date to mention he was between jobs. It's like, if you're going to date, be honest about things. If guys lie about little things, they'll lie about big things too.
