I have a pair of brown leather work boots with a rough texture that are covered in a nice white side walk salt glaze over them. Any ideas on how best to clean them?
Sometimes just water and a brush , but if it's really bad try some saddle soap. What kind of treatment have you done on them ? Depending on the boot I use boot oil (usually White's) or Openauf's LP. You will still get the salt stains but they wipe off and the snow/water won't soak thru the leather.
Just noticed you have rough out leather... not really sure what you can do there. I think you can still use Openauf's or Sno Seal on them but not oil
I used to use diluted vinegar to get the salt stains off.
