I do look better with makeup. I don't bother with it except for a few times a month. Do I look more tired, my eyes less wide, my lips pale? Yes. But it's what I look like. I like to think that not putting stuff on my face daily, and not needing the stuff that takes it off either, has helped me make it this far with very few lines on my face. I still wear makeup when I want to dress up or look businesslike, but the cashier at the grocery store and people in line? Sorry, they have to look at my tired, pale, real face.

I've worn makeup since my teens and I wash my face twice a day even on the days when I don't wear makeup. (Don't most women wash their faces?) I have very few wrinkles... just a few very fine lines beneath my eyes when I smile. Not bad for someone who's nearly 50.

I'm not going to lie, most women look better with makeup. If most of the good looking ones removed their makeup more then half would probably drop out of the good looking pool. HOWEVER, the girls that look good without makeup, WOWZA.

I really hate being told "You look better without makeup". It's kind of triggering. I've never been able to figure it out before, but the whole "makeup makes my concept of how I look inside my head match what I see in the mirror" resonated with me.

I also get kind of grumpy at the men who say "I don't like women who wear makeup. I prefer women who are naturally beautiful." Yay, another unrealistic standard for most of us to meet! (Especially since most of the "naturally beautiful women" they point out are wearing neutral/natural makeup.)

I also loved the bit in that essay about how the boyfriend found the writer beautiful without makeup because he knew her, knew her personality, etc. It's so true.

After the first "sleepover" with a new guy he remarked (after I got ready for the day) "you look like a completely different person, you are so pretty."

I transformed from the girl in pjs and a silk scarf to "normal" mode. A freshly washed face, lip gloss and combed hair can do wonders. Men respond better to women when we have "put our faces on." By preparing for the day you end up putting your best foot forward.

Absolutely! If it makes someone look better and feel better - inject and implant away! I didn't get near the attention, dates, model - hell, I didn't get laid until I had my work done. It was money well spent! Men preferring natural women is such a joke. I'd rather be around pretty, injected people than jealous hater women - who if put forth a little effort, could have the same attention.
Weird, I live in Colorado and I wear "natural" makeup. I've never had any plastic surgery and prior to getting married, I got plenty of attention from guys. I don't see a whole lot of these unkempt farm girls in Denver that you seem to encounter all over the place. Injections? Now that sounds gross!

That said, I do NOT wear "clownish" makeup, just a little eyeliner and tinted lip gloss, maybe a touch of blush if I look pale that day.

There are plenty of photos on the web of celebs with and without makeup and very few look all that beautiful without - most just look like ordinary women. Nothing wrong with that but just sayin.' I'm keeping my makeup, thank you.
Exactly, I don't think OP knows what, exactly, he's asking for.

I have to. I feel very insecure without makeup. I've been getting made fun of for years because I am ugly. I don't get ugly comments as much when I wear makeup. So I figure the only way I look good is with makeup and I am hideous without.
