Modeling for the company since 2012, O’Shaughnessy is definitely a unique presence among the other much-younger American Apparel models. The latest photo of O’Shaughnessy shows that beauty knows no age limit. Clad in lingerie while looking straight at the camera, the gray-haired beauty is redefining what it means to be a model.
And seeing her on display as a sexy 62 y/o model is depressing, b/c most 62 year olds don't look like she does.
They didn't look like she looked at 20 or 40, either.
Sexy may have no age limit but if we are relying on sexy being defined by well preserved 62 year old models . . . then that means the majority of us aren't going to be considered sexy at 62 - cause the majority of us are never going to look like gorgeous Jacky O'Shaughnessy. We didn't at 20 and we sure as hell aren't going to at 62.
I saw that article just the other day. While I like the sentiment of it, I really think that is a terribly unflattering photo of the lady - the clothing, the lighting, her position and frankly WAY too much makeup.
But kudos to the company for doing this. I really think more companies should be featuring more mature models in their clothing ads.
I agree that the photo itself is not flattering to a beautiful woman like the model. I wonder why they chose that lighting, two mismatched pairs of underwear, and that LIPSTICK? She looks great - the photo - not so much.
