For me, there are a few well-known ladies (and others not known at all) that have been my benchmarks of womanliness and femininity. My idea of female beauty really varies, too. Those in my first list may seem dated to the young folks reading--but I am not really that old, and I have always thought these ladies were beauties no matter what age I was/am. In no particular order, here are only a few:
Well-known
Cher -- the early years (before she started having cosmetic surgeries)
Liza Minnelli -- incomparable doe eyes--think the early years (e.g. Sally Bowles in Cabaret)
Crystal Gayle -- what a beauty back in the day, and still is!
Sophia Loren -- nothing else more to add on this one...quite possibly the top of all time?
Queen Latifah -- facial structure is amazing
Teena Marie -- I was mesmerized by her sound and look back in the early 80s
Dianne Carroll -- I had a friend whose mom looked just like her (so pretty)
Emmylou Harris -- she's aged beautifully
Ann Curry -- smart and lovely
Diane Sawyer -- not a lot of blondes on my list, but this lady has always been a beauty (still is)
Not Well Known
My Mother
A girl I went to high school with - stunning
A lady I currently work with (mix of Russian and Azerbaijani--another stunner)
A lady I used to babysit for back in the 80s -- not a classic beauty, but she was exotic and a wonderful human being
This is why they make different flavors of ice cream, everyone has different tastes.... You guys can keep your inflated blondes, I like em dark and petite. Nothing over 5'2", or 110 lbs.
If you're lucky enough to live in LA and you're an early riser, you can see the winner every morning, it doesn't get any better than this......
There was a girl in one of my college classes who was undoubtedly the most beautiful person I have ever seen. I only remember her first name-Sandy- but I will never forget how gorgeous she was.
I often thought I would find her somewhere as a model or celebrity of some kind. People would just stop and gawk at her; never seen anyone like that since.
