For men, I think it is when the stomach sticks out more than his chest. Another measure is when the waist measurement is larger than the inseam in his slacks.
For women, I think it is when EVERYTHING from her knees up to her neck shakes (jiggles) when she walks (unless her pants are so tight that there is not even a millimeter of material to spare so that the fat is squeezed into bulges).

It varies from person to person. You could take two women of equal height and weight and one might be drop-dead sexy while the other looks like a librarian that let herself go. Some women carry fat in all the right places and others in all the wrong places. You could have Sofia Vergara or a flat-chested yokel with a beer belly at the same height and weight.

That's what I keep trying to say, people keep insisting "size 12 is fat" and the like..... no, it's not, it is visual just like what you said. I see that all the time, hourglass figures vs. women with matchstick arms and legs and a barrel gut...... they might be the same weight....
I guess I am fat. I couldn't see my THING while looking down and there is no belly in the way.
Heck no. At my height (5'11"), you should be fine till 170 lb.
