I see a good amount of long skirts around here and own a few myself, plus some lighter material maxi dresses for the summer.

My long skirts are useful for the "bridge" seasons -- spring and fall -- where the mornings and evenings tend to be cooler with warmer daytimes. I can easily layer them with a tank/blouse and jean jacket, and they work with sandals or boots. I wear my maxi dresses from late spring to early fall, and they're perfect for weekends where I can just toss them on with some sandals and head out the door.

no.

men will always appreciate short skirts where we see beautiful curves and skin. it's the jealous women and/or religious zealots who feel otherwise. often times, i'd wish they could visit talibanistan and see how quickly they change their minds.

Skirt lengths have been fluid since the mid-70s, probably before that. Worrying about what length of skirt is in style is for children.

I couldn't care less about what's fashionable when I'm at home. I liked tie-dyed long skirts in the 70's and I still like and wear them today. My personality hasn't changed much since then - well, I guess I've mellowed a little - so why should my wardrobe?

I always wear long gowns when performing on stage, but since they won't do for TV appearances, I like the classic look - smart blazer and nice blouse, with, of course, a long skirt.

'Course, that's just me.

Mahrie.

I'll probably buy this one here pretty soon. I love crinkle skirts and this one caught my eye. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1195805..._home_active_2. Might grab the purple one too.

The maxi length skirts have been in style for a while, and I don't think it is due to modesty but it does help those of us who like to be modest.

I have found the people who have a dislike for longer skirts and dresses (or skirts and dresses in general), tend to be the same ones who dislike seeing the differences between the sexes. Some people are from places where you can't really tell the difference between men and women.
