I mean look at the difference. The whole beard, dull shirt hippy look is just awful. It makes you look like a dork?
It seems most people today confine to this style.
LOL... Look at us.... such hip, unconformist, creative, independent thinkers - yet we all dress alike! But style conformists do not bug me - even the judgmental ones. More important things in life.
I work in NYC and am so tired of seeing ugly, bearded mountain men walking around. I guess most of them are ugly geeks to begin with, so it doesn't make a difference either way, but it's a tired trend that needs to end.
Was just in NYC and my 8 year old son kept asking why all the men in the streets/subway had beards and were wearing "bowling shoes" and pea coats...
Me.....I prefer a man with a beard... That being said it must be clean. OTherwise....perhaps these hipsters are just trying to find themselves. Not to long ago our elders had labels for us when we were all trying to find ourselves. In my opinion the beard has been worn in all forms by some pretty impresive people since the dawn of man.... all the way back to the Sumerians' images are recorded such as this....
I think as long as man is around.....there will be beards...
Anyways, perhaps these people are not dressing this way because they feel they are being original, independent thinkers but just maybe they feel comfortable with the style?
I'm fairly certain most people wearing this look realize it isn't original or noncomformist.
I don't see any hipsters around my area Boston looking like this. Most of the males seem to be into the plaid short sleeve shirt with cargo type shorts below the knees, porkpie hat, usually short spikey haircut.
