I'm not seeing short shorts on men out in public. I personally go for longer, but slim fit shorts. Some just a bit above the knee, some just a bit below. But not at all baggy. The last time I remember seeing men in "Daisy Dukes" was as a kid, in the early 80s. Meaning, tight, cut-off Levis, sometimes cut so short the the pockets hung out lol!

I think nowadays people dont wear true shorts because of all the electronic entertainment. Parents arent telling their kids to stay outside until the street lights come on anymore; theyre all inside playing video games or on the computer in the nice air conditioned homes. However back when us kids were shoved outside and the doors locked behind us we dressed for hot weather which meant thin tee shirts or tank tops and shorts that were actually short. Nobody wanted to be running around playing ball or anything wearing jeans or anything of the sort.

Just because theyre shorter than your pants that doesnt make them shorts.

Shorts-Shorts is an absolute no no. No man in his right man would want to wear short shorts. Any man wearing daisy dukes must be drug tested!

I wear short shorts, but I'm not trying to see a man wearing them. Something just doesn't seem right about a man wearing daisy dukes....*shudders at the thought*

So let's get level set. Everyone take a look at this image and determine if this is what we are talking about. This used to be what men wore everywhere in America as an athletic short. Or are we talking about something even shorter?

Short swimsuits are making a comeback from what I've seen. Maybe that'll transfer over to regular shorts. I don't have the desire to "stand out", so I'll be waiting until it's more socially acceptable before updating my wardrobe of athletic shorts that go to my knee caps and cargo/khaki shorts I wear with polos.

Yes thats what i tend to think of when people say "mens athletic shorts". problem is a lot of people tend to think of men as big fat hairy slobs and they picture said man wearing shorter shorts and theyre revolted by it. People need to stop thinking of some duck dynasty guy wearing shorts and start picturing a guy like this http://i01.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/1...ont-b-mens.jpg

Thats the thing about change. Someone has to be the one to start it.

On him, that looks good for gym shorts. But I question whether any man over about 35 would look good in those, even those of us who work out and are in good shape.
