I personally do not wear shorts, and I hate wearing socks, so of course I would choose to go without shorts in favor of sandals. I want to move somewhere warmer where I can wear sandals year round, or at least wear them without the fear of my feet getting frost bite.
Just don't step on a pop top and wake up with a new tattoo of a Mexican cutie.

Living in South Florida, the only time I really wear shorts is when I'm working out.

I wear flip flops all the time. With everything.

I have ugly toes and don't wear flip flops or open toe shoes in public - no problem

Feet need to breathe. You can always freeball or wear a thong under some mesh/netted pants LOL!

False dichotomy. I would just wear shorts and go barefoot.

I don't wear flip flops in public so that's an easy one.

I wear capri pants more than shorts, so shorts.

I rarely wear either one - and I live in the hot and humid south. AND I'm not particularly uncomfortable either. Not pleased with how my feet and legs look. Plus I'm flat-footed, so sandals/flip flops aren't particularly comfortable. I wear mostly jeans and sneakers.

It's barefoot for me as much as possible. When I have to wear shoes then it is flip-flops for me. I own about 20 to 25 pairs and wear them about 8 to 10 months of the year. I too hate closing my feet up in socks and closed toed shoes. Yes, I drive in them all the time and yes, I have regular pedicures.

So I guess I would give up shorts. I only wear shorts around the house, the kind that are like mid thigh boy shorts with spandex. Other than that, I live in leggings. I have very light weight ones that I wear in the warm and hot weather and they are extremely comfortable. I have heavier weight ones for the cooler and cold weather. I wear tunic length shirts that are dressy, casual, sleeveless and sleeved, everyday.

definitely no shorts- always wear summer dresses as they are soooo comfy. WITH flip flops- the thick ones (around the house). But you DO have to clean them and keep your feet clean too.
