I have a number of brown spots on my face from too much sun. Do I need to go to a plastic surgeon and have tons of laser sessions or will over the counter products eliminate them? Advice?

I would see a dermatologist to begin with and from here on out wear your sunscreen and do what you can to avoid the sun. That is going to be more important than having them removed unless you are talking pre cancerous or cancerous lesions.

I have dark spots (not the same as sunspots, I just happen to scar easily. Pimples leave me with a mark!).

But here are the 3 things that work for me (the sunscreen is a no-brainer).

1. Brightening face wash: I use the Boots botanics one available at Target
2. A antioxidant serum: I have used all of the Boots ones with success
3. Brightening pads: these made a huge difference: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/o...e%26slotId%3D3

This process keeps things pretty even for me, and helps me get rid of new spots in a few weeks.

But get the spots checked out by a dermatologist to see if you need to worry about cancer!

I was wondering the same thing. I have a brown area around my mouth caused from the sun. My mouth always looks dirty. lol I've tried fading creams without any success. I cover it up with concealer type of makeup but I'm looking for a product that would get rid of it or at least lighten it.

Laser treatments work the fastest to remove brownspots. I just had freckles and sun damage removed it works well I had only one treatment and probably only need one more it cost $200 a treatment. the worst part is it makes you look like you were beat up for a few days it leaves red patches

Over the counter products don't usually work that well. I agree with laser facials used in conjunction with a hydroquinone cream and/or retin-a. You may see some difference over time with a glycolic cream at about 5% using every other night.
