I think women without makeup are more approachable. That fake mask puts up a kind of barrier. When I look at before/after pics, I usually prefer the "before". They look more real, and girl-next-doorsy. I don't need the Hollywood look.
I have to look polished and professional for work, and of course, when I compete in ballroom dance, I have on SO much makeup that Tammy Faye Baker would be jealous!!! But when I don't have to put on the dog, I cruise around without makeup and I just don't even care anymore if people see me without it. I look fine without makeup, but I think I look better with it. When I don't have to wear it I am simply too lazy to put it on. I'd rather just be able to roll out of bed, shower, brush and floss and GO!!! (Oh yeah - forgot to say "get dressed". Nobody wants to see this old bird without clothes! LOL!)
I only wear makeup on weekends, and even that is pushing it. I only ever put on eyeliner and mascara and that's it if I do. So if someone challenged me to do it, I could with no problem. I am not pretty, but I don't really find that makeup really helps either way. I've actually been told that I am brave because I don't wear it, and I am not even sure how to take that. I don't know if that's insult for me, or for everyone in general. Either way I found it to be a rude and uncalled for opinion. No one is brave just because they don't wear makeup.
Geez I don't even own any makeup. I think it was because my mother didn't allow me to wear any when I was growing up. She told me I was pretty enough and didn't need it. So whether or not I need it now I haven't makeup any in many years and I am 47. BTW, most of the women I know don't wear any and we range in age from our 20's to our 70's.
I go long periods with no make up. I feel I look better with some though it always looks natural.
Growing up my mom never left the house without make up. Even just going to the grocery store. She has gotten a little better about it now that she is older and I give her praise for doing so.
Couldn't do it. I've been wearing it for at least 45 years and it is such a part of me that I'd never get over the shock of stepping out without it. Even at home I usually dab on a bit of lip color. I often run errands with nothing on my face because my complexion is good, but I'll apply a little mascara and definitely reach for that lipstick. I like makeup and it makes me happy. Going naked-faced for any self-contest would hold no interest for me.
