It really caught my eye and I thought it was classic. Notwithstanding, my best friend looked at it and was telling me it's "old ladyish". What is your honest opinion? It's selling at the outlet store for roughly this same price.

I have the madison maggie which is the year before.
It has a thicker leather, and different hardware. I think the shape is actually less oldladish than the more structured satchel type madisons. I will say I have had my hands on the phoebe and I don't like the feel of the leather. Oh, and they are showing up at the outlet stores as deletes at much cheaper though I have not seen the scarlet.
IMO (and remember it's just that) - Coach isn't worth the money, not well made anymore, cheap "leather" if it is leather, overpriced.
This depends entirely on whether it is a made for factory bag or a boutique bag. Seriously, go look at the legacy duffles, the leather is buttery soft and construction is still good. Also, best warranty in the business.

Yup I agree. Coach still has very nice bags in the store collections.
