Well, duh! When you shave/cut off some hair but not all hair it's selective grooming (for example: on your head).
And you seem to think that if she trims her pubic hair in such a way so that when she's out in public random strangers cannot see her public hair, it means she should necessarily trim it where only you and she will ever see it as well? That makes no sense.
You are trying way too hard to make her wrong in what she is doing. She's not wrong. Neither are you, for preferring that she grooms herself different. But you are wrong for expecting her to do this and that for you, without you communicating your preferences to her. Your preferences are not some standard baseline by which everyone should operate. Rather, they are subjective preferences.
So, quit blaming and start communicating.

Quit thinking with your selfish brain and ask yourself, if you really ARE interested in her as a complete woman and not some component parts, how compatible you are together. If not, I'd suggest you let this young woman move on to find an emotionally mature male.
As for preferences, pubic hair is there for an anatomical bio-physiological purpose, I simply like it trimmed so its soft downy fur like a bunny or kitty before the hairs get to kink length i.e when they become more like tangled underbrush. So a Wahl trimmer with say 1/4 to 1/2 inch attachment every few weeks would be easy low maintenance compared to all the shaving routines women use for legs and other parts. Personally a little under arm hair is fine too as long as its trimmed and while smooth legs are nice and I've never been with a hirsute legged women I suppose if they never shaved their legs it would just as soft as my hairy legs so while it may be aesthetically unusual in this day and age in most western societies I could learn to live with it on a quality woman. Although it would look strange to me.
If you want to complain about the 'style preferences', I think the blame is not only the porn industry (and Brazilian wax et al) but those ancient artists / sculptors. I recall as a youth (perusing museums or art books etc...) wondering why the women in nude portraits or sculpture never seemed to have pubic hair visible when they obviously were post pubescent! I knew they had hair in that lovely trident pattern, yet, it rarely, if ever was displayed.

For me, body shaving is seasonal. In summer, I expose more in public which prompts me to shave parts of my body. In winter, I expose very little and only shave my face. There are also days up here where my head is covered up due to single digit F temps, so shaving my face is optional on those days.
