I have been changing the physical characteristic I most wanted to change, my weight. I've lost 140 lbs this year. Surprisingly, the weight loss hasn't been a magic wand that perfected the other areas of my life...sex is much, much worse at a lower weight and I've been having emotional issues, like depression. I feel like I don't know who I am anymore.
I think we get fixated on one major point about our appearances and convince ourselves we'd have a better life if we changed that one thing. But it just doesn't work that way.
I am sometimes envious of girls with beautiful dark skin and I am lily white. It's not the color I notice, but the complexion and very often darker skin is "prettier". . As long as all my parts work, I'm happy.
I'm the opposite. I'm naturally pale and I've never once wanted dark skin. I don't even like to get a light tan.
Which physical characteristic would you change, if you could?
If I could change a physical characteristic, it would certainly be my skin color. I would want to be perceived as wealthy, smart and intelligent. Unfortunately, in this world, dark skin is looked down upon, and is for the most part considered poor, unattractive and ignorant. Obviously, I don't want to be classed as such, so I would opt for lighter skin.
I'm dark too, but I'm not bothered by that. The only thing that would really significantly improve my appearance would be different hair, so that's what I would change.

I would change the way my face looks in pictures. I don't know, it just looks fugly. Anyway who cares how you're "perceived"? Wouldn't you rather care who you are than how you're "perceived" by others?
I meant colorism. Although your post is troubling for other reasons.
One thing i might change is related to my skin tone. I get hyper-pigmentation easily. Any skin irritation, no matter how minor leaves a mark. Even most of my acne.
I had some inflammation from a potential allergic or other reaction that left me. With dozens of dark spots and several more lighter spots. I went to the dermatologist and basically i have to wait and use sunscreen for these to clear up. It started in mid July and hasn't healed or returned to normal yet. I would live to lose that feature -- predisposition to getting spots.

I'm with Jade on this one. Even though I'm a man, I don't care for splotchy areas, and sun damage on my skin. Maybe a full sleeve would cover it up
I wouldn't change a thing on my body; it makes me uniquely ugly, and where's the fun, if you can't be made fun of
