Are bootcut jeans dated? (difference, thin, women, long)

I still like how good-fitting bootcuts & other flaired jeans look on women, but those jeans Rachel Zoe's wearing in those photos look way too long, imo. Why cover up shoes?
I notice a lot of people wear their jeans longer than in the past, sometimes lengths that scrape the ground and lengths to where they step on the hems. Why?! I'm aware that high-end jeans come in one length fits all, but it isn't hard to at least stitch up the hems at four corners (and iron creases for the new hems) if a person doesn't want to pay a tailor and doesn't want to take the time to sew the hems all the way around.
Rachel Zoe frequently also wears dresses that scrape the pavement. I think she has a thing about long clothes...
I thought the primary thing that defines mom & dad jeans are jeans that have the waistline pulled up to the armpits... well, high-waist jeans like the ones worn in the 80s.
I don't think that they even make high-waisted jeans anymore. You'd have to get them at a thrift store.
They ("they" being buyers for fashion retailers, apparently) tried to push high-waisted pants (denim and otherwise) here a couple of seasons ago. Didn't "take."
Bootcuts are not for all bodyshapes. They look amazing on some women and horrible on others! In that case, skinny jeans looks much more good and gives you a slender look! Trends keep coming back though and bootcuts are gaining popularity again!

If anything, mom's / grandma's jeans are in now. I am tallking about those jeans that go all the way up and are elastics. All girls are sporting them now.
Aside of that, I don't see anything wrong with boot cut if they flatter your body, Wear them!
If anything boot cut jeans in guys reflects your age (in your 30s ish)

I hate that too. I'm petite, and high waisted jeans look better on me than any other kind. Those low waisted jeans do not flatter ANY woman's figure, IMO. They are the jeans version of capris. They usually make the woman look fat, even if she isn't, because her hips and tummy go above the waistline of the jeans, creating what looks like fat rolls. They are designed for a man's body.
As for boot cut jeans, that style comprises the majority of the jeans available here in TX, so apparently they aren't out of style here. I don't know why that is, because I live in an urban city where most women do not dress like cowgirls. I don't like those either because I don't wear boots, so they just bag on the bottom around my tennis shoes, especially since I have to get all my jeans hemmed. I love the skinny jeans. They look and fit great
I love my bootcut jeans!!! I wear them all the time
