I agree. I rarely wear makeup. And I couldn't imagine having to hide behind it (for an entire year of dating). That's crazy!
The sooner they see me natural the better. If they are so shallow that makeup can keep them or lack thereof can scare them away, better to know early. Cut your losses and move on down the road.
My guy showed up last night 15 minutes early for our second date. I'm a redhead so my eyes almost disappear without some liner, and my lips are very light. I had no makeup on, and my freckles were front and center dancing across the bridge of my nose. He told me it was cute and to stop covering them up. Then he sat and talked with me as I put on the makeup, told me I was beautiful either way, and made HUGE points with me.
Good Lord, eventually you'll probably wind up in bed with your guy - more than likely sooner than one year. What do you do? Wear makeup to bed and wake up looking like a monkey with black mascara rubbed on your face and your lipstick all smeared? Get real. I wash my makeup off every night whether or not someone is there. It's just a good idea. They are dating me for me, not for my ruby red lips and stunning eye shadow!
Like Linda said, I didn't start wearing makeup until I was 38 when someone mentioned it might be a good idea professionally. The less junk you put on your face, the longer you can hold off the wrinkles and aged skin.
The article is click-bait. Not legit research.

That is crazy, not letting your significant other see u without makeup. I have been with my partner for 4yrs and the first time we made love, he saw me without make up as I took it all off before and washing my face as I do every night before bed and no he did not runaway screaming, LOL. I think its crazy how some women feel so insecure about there looks. When I see my guy now I just put on eyeliner and put on heavy makeup only if we go out or have company at home.
That is ridiculous. If you are more than casual with a man, he is going to see you without makeup.
