Last week I admired the short sleeve sweater a woman was wearing at a bridge club. The thanked me and said her husband bought it for her several years ago. She also said it was a Chanel and asked if I knew what it cost? I had ho idea and said so. $2200. They are divorced and I asked if she would go back to him. "Oh, no... we were married 45 years and there's no going back for me." I didn't pursue the topic. It didn't occur to me such a small garment would be so pricey. Even if I were wealthy, the cost is too much.
