At the time this was taken (a couple years ago now) it was still in the last stages of healing...and had some areas that required touch-up. But you get the idea of what I was shooting for there. I do get many comments on it when it's showing, which isn't often... I do keep my ink where it isn't seen in my day to day life. I get tattoos for me, not to draw attention of the world around me. This...it was me wanting to carry a reminder of her around for the rest of my life.

I get a lot of compliments on it when I let it show, which is rare...really it was just a permanent way to remember someone who was worth that kind of commitment from me.

Anyways, I thought of this, reading the appreciation for the kind of beauty that was appreciated in days past.

(She was not a "lady of the night" or an actress, either...of course this is a bit beyond the 1800's.)
Wow! She was very beautiful and elegant looking!

What an ineresting thread.

From an artistic point of view, the photos reflect the fact that, beyond all of the trappings, fashion, and frou-frou, underneath it all the same human body's been there through the ages since the beginning of time.

In fact, that's one of the many themes of Whitman's I Sing the Body Electric.

Thanks! I think so, too. She was also a very classy, smart, and independent person. She was probably my best role model, out of all of my family.
