Hey there. So I'm a man with very thick, straight hair. I'm going to attach a picture. I recently showed this picture to my hair stylist and I like what he did with it, but I'm having trouble getting as much texture as is shown in this picture. I like the shaggy, messy look of it, and that's what I'm looking to accomplish. Is the fact that you can see all his layers so distinctly contributed more to the haircut or the product that's being used? Also, does anyone have a recommendation as to what product would provide me with this kind of texture?

Thanks!

My stylist uses styling wax. A small amount on the fingers, stroked through in small bits. You don't want to coat ALL your hair, just pieces of it.

Yup, my husband uses wax when he wants to style his hair like that, too. You can try Baxter's Pomade, it'll do the trick... but a little goes a long way!

Aveda men's products are great. Try their grooming clay. It'll give you the look in that pic.

Pretty much any hair pomade or wax will work. A little bit goes a long way!

Texturizer or styling wax, but a little goes a long way so practice and play with it so you can figure out the right amount for your hair.
