Why are barbie's measurements considered unrealistic? (blonde, shave, clothes, women)

I don't get it. Her figure is typical for a woman who wears a corset. She was created a while ago when corsets were more popular. If you add 6 inches to her waist it's around 36-22-33 which is pretty typical for a skinny woman. Women generally used to wear corsets so why is it wrong for a doll to mirror that image?
Her shape was made that way so little girls could dress her easily.
women wore corsets in the 1850s, not the 1950s. And they are harmful to your health so even if it were the case that being Barbie sized is normal for a woman wearing a corset, that is still not a good thing.
No they were actually popular until the 1920's.
My point is that barbie's dimensions aren't out of the norm for a skinny woman. She is pretty typical just an altered waistline.

There's no connection to Barbie and corsets. Barbie dates back to the 60s. Corsets went out of style after 1920s - 1930s.
As a collector / seller of women's vintage clothing and although smaller sizes more plentiful from past era's, 36 -22 - 33 is not a typical smaller size beyond 1930s.

Girdles were popular from20's-60's and many of the vintage beauties of 50's wore waist cinchers.
And 36-22-33 isn't that small... Many extremely petit women are a tad smaller than that.

36-22-33 is not "pretty typical" for a thin woman. Not one with natural boobs, anyway.

Most petite women don't have the exaggerated long legs barbie has. She wasn't designed to be a toy for girls. She originally was a toy for adult men. That should explain a few things to you about her measurements.

I did not find that true in my research. There was the Lilli doll that was originally made for men. Someone had gotten the idea to make Barbie for little girls from the Lilli doll.

That's kind of funny, actually, flat out strange, men playing with Barbie dolls. lols
