Any doctor can write the prescription. You don't need to have acne to get a prescription for retin a. It is regulated because as I understand it can cause birth defects. If you have a prescription and you have coverage that's all you need. I don't lie to my doctor, she has been writing prescriptions for retin a for over ten years. I live in Canada I have extended health and it is covered no questions asked.
You are in Canada, but most on this board are in the US. In the US, the vast majority of health insurance policies only cover medications if they are considered "medically necessary". So while you may be able to find "any" doctor to write the script here too.... you will still have to pay for the medication yourself if the doctor doesn't put a diagnosis code on the prescription that is a medical problem/disease.
So you are incorrect to say that if you have insurance coverage, "that's all you need"..... in the US. You need a medical problem.
I'm surprised that Canada would cover retin-A for wrinkle prevention. I guess that's lucky for you.
I have a prescription: Where can I get Retin-A at a low price? I see some people here have purchased it for $5 and $10, is this out of the country?
Thank you,
