I work in an office where damn near every guy has a shaved head. When did this look become popular?

It's become popular for a lot of guys with balding or thinning hard to go directly to shaving their heads, as opposed to other hair choices. That's a lot of it.

DUH????

this has been around since the mid 90's.

there will always be bald men, so the "shaved head" will never go out of style.

and that includes me as well !!

gotta love it, and I do !!

I started to notice sometime in the early 2000s. This convict look seems to coincide with fighting characters on video games, NCIS-type shows on TV, the rise in MMA and UFC, the rise in street gangs, and so forth. It is very rare that a man can pull the shaved head look off IMO, and not look like an undesirable, less-refined, less respectable member of society.

I've always associated this look with criminals, convicts, ex-cons, bikers, MMA and UFC fighters and fans, people undergoing radiation treatment, and thugs.

This is it. More of the guys who are losing their hair are shaving their heads instead.

because it's easy, no upkeep, and works with thinning hair which most men experience at some point in life.

As a lady, I think the shaved look is a hell of a lot better than trying to disguise it with hats and styling and such. Unless you can salvage it for reals, just say F it and shave it all off! It's bold and confident.....which is sexy..... I like it!
