I live in Texas. Nine months out of the year are great weather wise, but between July and September, walking from the grocery store to the car can reduce one to a sweaty little puddle on the simmering pavement.
The weird thing is that it's so hot outside that many restaurants and theaters and stores crank up the AC so much that I actually have to bring a sweater or jacket inside with me to throw over my shoulders, which have gone from wet with sweat to ice water in the space of five minutes.
In winter, when it snows, long pants, boots, sweaters, jackets, etc. are the clothes to wear.
In the summer, when it is warm, humid, sunny, then it is time for shorts, capris, skirts, tanks, flip flops, sandals, etc.
One would not wear shorts and a tank outside when it's snowing and cold. Neither would one wear heavy woolen pants, a turtle neck, and a sweater when it's 95 degrees with a dew point of 70.
I live in Illinois. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be in the 90s with a heat index over 100 due to the humidity. Approximately six months from now it wil be around 20 below zero. Yes, weather affects how we dress!
I live in hot and humid Houston, and no it does not. I will still wear my suits when I go out during the day/evening to work or other events.
Suit season is year round.
