I have two "real" bras from Victoria's Secret (one in black and one in nude) and a bunch of sports bras from Target. It works for me. I think I also bought a strapless one from Vickie's but I hardly ever wear it.
Name brand bras are sold at Wal-Mart, the same brand you'd find at many other stores except that you'll pay less money for the same bra at WM.
I have been professionally fitted for bras and they were crap. Probably because the so-called professional bra fitter was just your typical sales clerk who ended up being told to go 'fit bras'.
Not sure why some think bra sizes run small at WM; they carry a wide range of sizes, from the tiny trainer bras to the very, very large size bras.
But then again, some just bash WM because their friends do.
I don't bash Walmart. In fact, I've defended Walmart on multiple threads on the C-D forum. I buy lots of things there, including clothes. I'll buy undies, socks, camis, jeans, dressy tops, swimsuits, loungewear, workout wear (love their Danskin line!), etc. etc. etc. I also buy everything from housewares to groceries to electronics there. Believe me, I'm not anti-Walmart -- I actually placed a $60 order from Walmart.com just yesterday for some summer stuff they had on sale.
However, I have not had luck with their bras. They might have good bras, but I've never had one from there that I liked as much as the ones that I have purchased from Victoria's Secret. And I've been fitted at Belk, JC Penney AND Victoria's Secret.
I can tell ya that anyone who buys undies from Victoria Secret is wasting their money.
You mean, that $30 2" triangular piece of butt floss they advertise as being on sale? The only way my sister finally broke herself of that paycheck draining habit was by having two babies. I actually like them, but I refuse to pay that much, so I get them at TJ Maxx or Ross for $2-3/pair.
Ha! I get free panties from VS all the time. I certainly don't buy them, though. Undies are fair game from just about anywhere...Walmart, Target, whatever clothing store has them on sale...actually, the last undies I bought were a pack of Hanes bikinis from Dollar General. They were on the 50% off markdown aisle. They aren't my favorites, but they do the job.
I have one specific kind of undies that I love, and I'll forever go commando if they ever stop making them: Maidenform low-rise boy shorts; modal with lace at the waistband and leg openings. They are so cute and comfy, with just the right amount of butt cheek peaking out. About $10/pair if they're on sale, and worth every cent.
