The less, the better. Perfume? Definitely OUT. Makes me wonder what she's covering up.
I do like a little make-up, esp as a woman gets older. Besides...it turns me on when she takes it off (the make-up, that is), as her way of letting me know she doesn't let everybody see her that way!
I would say 90% of women my age and younger (also 27) wear too much makeup and/or wear it too often. A lady I work with is 30 and she doesn't wear makeup--just her eyeliner, which is tattooed on. She's not overly attractive or anything, but the lack of makeup just screams of confidence.
I think makeup is cool for a special gathering or if you're getting a portrait or something like that, but I was always amazed at how many girls I'd see without makeup for whatever reason and think "that's the best I've ever seen her look..." or at least close to it.
Men, do you prefer women that use make up every day?
I like a woman who looks good without makeup, but she definitely gets a ton of bonus points for fixing herself up before going out, even if its just a quick trip to the mall, Starbucks, Barnes and Noble or Menchies. To me, prettying herself up is just normal part of personal hygiene and wanting to look as good as possible.
Im not saying spend 30 minutes putting on base, the mascara, eyeliner, blush, foundation, rouge, etc. Im just saying pretty up a bit.
For the vast number of women, the difference between their au natural look and their made up look is stark. Some of the best looking women in this world look "meh" or "kinda cute" without any make up. Thanks to the internet, we have all seen the "before" and "after" photos of celebrities, models and others (though some of them clearly have foundation or concealer in the "after" pictures). In fact, someone like Katy Perry or Mila Kunis is completely unrecognizable without makeup.
To answer your question, over time every woman gets lax about their appearance in front of their significant other (men, too). Thus, someone attractive or cute without makeup is definitely the way to go.
