I think brogue style of shoes look classy as it has a elegant shape and a heel too, with many nice colors and it really gives a good personality to a man.

What are some of the best dress shoes that have a comfy feeling like you're wearing tennis shoes?

For my casual shoe lately I've been wearing these (the black version): World Tour Men's Classic | Men's Casual Shoes | Rockport
The man's eyes, his smile, his genuineness and a good sense of humor makes me blind to fashion.

I've never had a woman comment on my shoes specifically. I don't think shoes will impress a woman although it does count towards generally looking well put together and it will count against you if they don't match.

With the general shift towards casual clothing many of the older rules pass without notice. At a semi-formal event I saw a guy wearing a white tailcoat with white loafers and the overheard women talking about how sharp he looked. I don't even like loafers paired with a suit, let alone a white tailcoat.
