If the husband wears a shirt with a big logo on it to dinner? What if the logo is Gucci? A date shows up with a "St. John's Bay" shirt - bad? Your son want you to buy him a shirt that has "American Eagle" splashed across the back? (Forgive me if my brand examples are unrealistic.)
I see it as a warning sign that he is insecure about himself as an independent, accomplished person in and of himself, and is trying to "buy" an identity.
Doesn't matter. I certainly wouldn't consider him an insecure person "trying to buy an identity". As long as the clothes are clean, & the man is well-groomed, I'm good with it.
I never really got the point of wearing logo'd clothing like that, Aeropostle American Eagle Hollister type crap plastered across your chest. In high school kids that wore these clothes were deemed "preps". The most logo'd I got is some J's on my feet and a Volcom hoodie.
