People used to say I looked young a few years ago now when I tell people I'm 41 nobody says "I'd never think that" like they do to my friends. They don't seem surprised at all. Does that mean I look my age?
You are your age; you have lived for 41 years. I'm 48. Think of all the many cool changes we have seen over our lifetimes. It's staggering, particularly in the tech sector. Why disown that? And what is someone who looks a few younger getting out of it? A quick compliment? And then what? At the end of the day, we've all lived as long as we've lived. Looking one way or another doesn't change that, for better or for worse, so there you have it.
You have made it 41 years. Celebrate that. Look forward to the future. What other amazing inventions will we be honored to see and perhaps use? Getting older shouldn't be such a crime that we feel we get bonus points for not looking like what we really are.

Probably, or that they were raised not to comment on people's ages.

Or worse.
Perhaps whether or not you look your age never mattered to them at all...
