Neither my husband nor I wear rings. Sure, we had them for our wedding ceremony, but what's most important is what's in one's heart. Going on 24 years and I've always had complete trust in my husband. I admit to getting jealous when I was pregnant, chunky, and a hormonal roller coaster, but a ring on his hand wouldn't have fixed that.
My wife and I don't wear rings. When we got married, we were young hippies, short on money and pretty sure that we'd rather put the ring money into a down payment for a house.
35 years later, we've found no particular reason to change that decision. And we don't cheat on our spouses although we both enjoy the attention we sometimes get from members of the opposite sex.
Jewelry irritates me and i'm constantly fussing with it. I think it has something to do with metal next to my skin.
Watches always stop working within a few months, even battery operated ones. Pierced earrings cause my ears to get puffy and red. I was constantly taking my rings off while I did something and eventually just didn't put them back on.
Spouse's ring went down a drain once and that was that.
I don't wear earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, nada.
Just don't like any jewelry, I find it annoying on my skin. No watch, no rings, no necklaces, nothing.
Has nothing to do with trying to look available. In fact I would argue wearing a wedding ring could attract just as many people as those who don't. Lots of folks out there looking for a relationship with married people, they just want flings without the commitment.
I'm the opposite of the post I guess. I have my wedding band on my left hand, but it is so wide that I have my engagement ring on my right hand. I'm a nurse and was doing a well-child check on a four-year old with her mom and she was looking at my wedding band and said, "What is that ring for?" I smiled and said, "It is from my husband. When you get married your husband gives you a ring to wear to remind you he loves you." So then she looks at my other hand and shouts, "Wow! You got TWO husbands!?!" Her mom and I both lost it - the whole room collapsed in giggles. Kids are hilarious sometimes.
Wife wears engagement ring and got a new diamond after the one I gave her was lost someplace at her work. Also has the wedding band. She gave me one at our wedding but it was scratching my musical instrument. I wore it on the right hand for a while but it was bothering me and I also found it was a distraction in playing. I don't like any rings and I wear a watch only when I leave the house. I guess I am not into bling. I think there are a lot of cheating spouses that wear rings. It takes more than a ring to keep trust in a marriage. True, I have heard it is a "no pest strip". LOL

When I was single I worked in Africa and to avoid all the marriage proposals in the market (and I suppose all the people who wanted to immigrate to America - I won't flatter myself) I had a Walmart wedding ring that I would wear when working abroad to discourage that sort of thing. It helped, definitely.
I don't wear one most of the time. I'm always covered in paint, glue, and other stuff. My husband doesn't wear any jewelry. We've been married 27 years. It's not an issue for us.
A friend of mine lost one of her diamonds out of her ring last week. To quote her, she's "physically sick" about it. I can't imagine having to worry about something like that all day, every day. I don't need added anxiety over possessions.
We don't wear rings now, but my husband is giving me an anniversary ring, which I plan to wear.
