I'm going to try wearing makeup again and wanted to get feedback. I have used bare minerals, but absolutely hate their powder foundation. I also have oily skin. Any thoughts?

AVEDA used to have a really good foundation until they discontinued it. The best one I have found since is Revlon Colorstay.

A friend of mine with skin sensitivities only uses Clinique now and it hasn't been giving her any trouble

Physicians Formula organic powder is the only that works for me. I've tried Bare Minerals, Clinique, and most of the known drugstore brands.

I mix Physicians Formula liquid foundation into moisturizer for a light tinted makeup.

Jane Iredale has a line of cosmetics made for people with Rosacea. It's pretty good stuff.

I have had success with Revlon Colorstay. I can't use Physician's Formula, Neutrogena, Loreal...the list of what I can't use is much, much longer than what I can use.

I'm allergic to chemical sunscreens which makes it a lot harder to find something. Revlon's Colorstay just has physical sunscreens in it, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, and my skin can handle those.

Whatever you try, test it somewhere other than all over your face first. I've found that I have to try things on my arm first, and if I don't have a reaction there, then I try a small area on my face for a couple of days in a row, then I figure it's safe for the whole face.

Mod cut: Orphaned (quoted post has been deleted).

OP: I'd suggest Almay. Or Clinique.

I find that I have to switch back and forth. I'll be fine with Physician's Formula for awhile, then I'll start itching/burning, so I'll change to Almay. Then it happens with Almay and back I go. I didn't get along with Clinique at all, unfortunately. Haven't tried Bare Minerals. I also found that Maybelline makes a hypoallergenic mascara. The one I'm using right now is Lash Discovery. I found it when I started reading labels one day when the store was out of both PF and Almay mascara in black and I was desperate. Just be sure to read the labels so you don't get in trouble. Those are the only brands that I can safely use and I keep a stash of each since I never know what each day will bring.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I'd love to hear which brands of sunscreen work for incredibly sensitive skin (face).
I have not yet found one that doesn't make me break out in a rash. I've even been to the dermatologist for suggestions and got nowhere. Vaseline is the only thing I can use on my face with no reaction.
