I don't like to spend more than $50 and usually try to get them at Nordstrom Rack.
We live a few miles from the Oakley headquarters, and we used to have a neighbor who was pretty high up there and kept us supplied with free sunglasses. Those were the days.
My Maui Jim baby Beach sunglasses are worth every penny. If you have a small/narrow face and have trouble finding sunglasses that fit and look good, try them.
If I had a full/bigger face I would never spend too much money on sunglasses.
Yikes.. Paying $150 for sunglasses would make my stomach turn lol. Most I would pay is $10 but normally $5-7 range. I don't wear them enough to pay more.
$50. I bought the same glasses in two colors ($100 total) and had great sunglasses for a couple years before they broke/got lost! Not prescription, I got them at TJ Maxx so they were a designer name but I'm not sure what one.
I have had my current pairs of glasses for eight and four years now. I am in the habit to caring for my glasses and knowing where they are. So is my husband. I think there are people who constantly lose sunglasses and people who always keep their glasses close.
All in around $350. Prescription, two sets of lenses one progressives the other normal, both polycarbonate transition. The progressives are clear transition and the regular lenses are smoked transition. With the progressives in, I can just wear them as regular glasses that just look kind of stupid (sports sunglasses) rather than carry both sets of glasses. They don't really quite get dark enough though. But then with the smoked glasses going into suddenly dark areas (tunnels, for example) is its own issue. They take a long time to clear. Clear transitions have an advantage there in that they don't get dark enough that seeing in tunnels is a problem unless their the shorter variety with no artificial lighting.
I paid $250 for Prada sunglasses. I must have an odd face shape because it is very difficult for me to find sunglasses that look good on me. Of course, when I try on these expensive brands, they looked really good on me, so I had to buy a pair.
Before that, $10 polarized sunglasses did its job, but I wouldn't dare wear them out in public.
I ended up with another pair of Tom Ford, thanks to my niece who talked me into them, with a persistent salesperson for assistance. The glasses were less expensive than the Stefano Ricci that I was looking at, so a relative bargain in that light. I was also able to get another pair of Prada Linea Rossa on sale, so they were under $200, so not too bad.
