Really? Because most Macy's are a mess. San Leando and Hayward were terrible and really show how varied the selections could be in the brand. There were few professional clothes there. They didn't even carry good mid range items Vince Camuto and Calvin Klein. While they carried brands like Coach and Michael Kors in handbags - the only stocked heavily logged bags in that store. Concord's store was much the same.

Macy's Union Square was hit or miss for cleanliness. Not all sections were similarly well kept. Walnut Creek and Pleasanton were pretty clean, but Walnut Creek had edgier clothing and brands. They used it as a near flagship like the SF store. San Mateo was middle of the road.

I found Macy's frustrating due to completely j consistently in brands stocked, even in the same region. And unkempt stores. I don't have the mental energy to dig through unorganized racks. It really wasn't any better than shopping at Ross. And the overall quality of brands declined. Many clothes weren't any number Ed than forever 21.

It was also quite hard to sort out the Macy's exclusive bridge lines from the high end versions of said brands due to confusing merchandising.

Speaking of the Bay Area, the last time I was in SF I visited the Macy's men's store near Union Square and found it comprehensive, well-stocked, well-priced, and generally delightful. Certainly nothing like it in NYC. How nice, I thought, to go looking for a shirt or sweater or pair of slacks and not have to wade through aisles of earrings and perfume to do it.

Of course they're closing it. Somebody at Macy's really has there head up their butt to get rid of one of their good stores.
