Thanks for the in-depth analysis of current trends! Norm-core hipsterlets? Who knew? It's been enlightening.
I'm going to be honest here. My first feeling seeing that phrase was that people who know such "in the know" and specific phrases are much more concerned about "trendy" than the people they're picking on.

Just a feeling, which may or may not be accurate.
I don't know if anyone is picking on anyone else. I certainly wasn't, if you're referring to me.
I do have an interest in fashion, just as I have an interest in architecture and tattoos and other various forms of visual expression. But I wasn't trying to pick on anyone else by throwing my opinion into the mix.

Oh, I didn't think you were picking on anyone.
I have an interest in fashion, too, which is why I like to check this board.
But I don't know all of the trendy designations for subsets of subsets of fashion. And I don't feel I need to...We are all different in how we view fashion. (And how we view people.) I personally don't like to find such specific distinctions that I'm just literally putting people into a box. That's my personal feeling on it, but that doesn't mean anyone has to agree.
Can you re-phrase the question..........I don't believe bro-ey-ness is a word.
But yes, Douchery is exploding all over the world.
Douchery has always existed, ever since the first douche caveman shoved the skinny caveman and kicked the guy's club all the way down the hall while all the cave girls laughed.
Douchery needs no backward hats to exist.
Luckily, non-douches also exist. Just like always.
Such negative behavior is in no way exploding, trust me. Want to see some real torture that no adult was ever going to intervene with for any special snowflake? Get in a time machine and go back to grow up in the 70s. It would be seriously eye-opening. Wearing a hat backward and formulaic clothes do not come close.
