back when it wasnt popular for men with thinning or balding to shave their heads, most men had the old grandpa bald on the top and hair on the sides and back.

would you prefer a man to completely shave his head or go back to the old style like your fathers / grandfathers had with hair on the sides but none on the top?

so many guys have shaved heads these days it makes them all look the same?

I'll say what I always do.

Depends on the man. Every person doesn't look good in every style to everyone.

So, some men would do well to shave clean. And others may not need to.

I dunno. My husband doesn't shave his head, but he gets a short cut all over; no combing needed. I think I like that better than shaved and better than bald on top and hair on the sides. He started getting it cut super short when his hairline started receding a lot, rather than do a comb-over. When I met him he was 22 and had shoulder length hair, parted in the middle.

If a guy is pretty much already bald on top, I prefer he shave his sides as well. My husband has gray hair which has receded and has a balding spot on the back but he has it cut short all over and it looks nice. I don't like that old fashioned "grandpa" look on anyone.

as a guy, I am aware that not every woman is going to like shaved heads. As a guy who shaves his head because I thought it looked worse balding, I agree that I feel like it works for some guys and it doesn't for other guys. While I would prefer that I had hair to style, I actually regularly get compliments about my clean-shaven head and even get random women that come over to me at bars etc. to ask if they ran rub it. It was weird at first but now I actually think it's pretty funny.

IOW: I'm lucky I have a decent-shaped noggin and that it appears to work alright for me. I wouldn't shave my head if I hadn't started losing it, but I make the best of it and actually think it works alright for me.

Some women may not prefer shaved, but to me, I look way, way better with a shaved head than I did balding.

I always want to touch a shaved head when I see it. Same thing with a trimmed or shaped beard, I just want to touch it. I don't know why.

Some guys look great to me bald, others not. A bald top with hair on to sides never really looks good to me.
