I've heard that you can turn a sunburn into a tan, while minimizing the damage of the UV rays. However I've never tried this and don't know what the results look like. I've seen a YouTube video before of a Rhode Island girl who had somewhat a reddish/orangish tan too. As for reddish brown, if I can't really say that I liked the other two tans, perhaps I could also try getting a brown tan with a reddish tint to it. I wonder what the best method is of achieving these kinds of tans? Btw, I've never really tanned before, as I don't live near the beach.

Sunburning is very bad for your skin no matter what.

I've only seen odd orange colored tans from people who used sunless tanning lotions.
Sunless Tanning Lotion

My mother used to use baby oil and iodine. That was reddish going on. Iodine(for the staining), and baby oil for the moisturizing. I would "not" recommend doing that.

Very unhealthy! Getting sunburned causes long-lasting damage to your skin and can increase your chances of getting skin cancer.

Having just been listening to a program on cancer, I can only advise you to give up the whole idea.

If you've never really tanned before, stay that way, and consider yourself smart.

Get a spray tan. It works for the Kardashians.

As ylisa7 stated above, using sunless tanning lotions would be an option for you. They have different shades available for you to choose from.

That's better than deliberately frying your skin.

Sunless tanning lotion, especially one that's too dark for your skin tone, will give you a reddish brown tan without the risk of skin cancer and premature aging.

Hard to believe that this is a serious question. The color tan that you get, from sunlight, completely depends on the kind and color of skin that you have.

So unless you use a self-tanner, wysiwyg.

Most people I've seen with a reddish tint (that sounds weird) to their skin tone/tan are at least part non-Caucasian/non-European.
