Yes, she is, and by quite a bit. And skinny people have cellulite, most women no matter what their size have it, it's normal.

Skinny women have some fat too, just not a lot of it. It's normal to have some fat but not to be fat.

In America it is.

64% of women are considered overweight, which is a majority, which makes it "normal."

I don't think the models are obese etc just normal person.
Who says that skinny people are healthy?
If a person don't like chubby models don't look at them.
Not every body can be size 10 and below.

hooray for Target. I don't shop there anyway. Whatever sells, that's what they'll use. Used to be supermodels, now it's big name actresses that are on magazine covers. Whatever sells. Why not make store mannequins unhealthy looking like the majority of Americans? Better yet, dress little swine people... ugh.

She's too heavy. I don't care about the cellulite, but I think she's too overweight. I feel the same way about men too. Women or men who are 40 or 50 pounds overweight or more shouldn't be models, IMO. Sure, America is overweight, but I don't think very overweight should be portrayed as a standard of beauty to emulate.

Is that what models are? Is that what they should be? Or should they be a representation of the population?

I hadn't really thought about it until you wrote this ^^^.

Personally I don't look at models as a standard of beauty to emulate. Never have. The body I want is the healthiest version of the one I was born with. I'm not there but I'm a lot closer than I was. I'm a work in progress.

What I'm looking at when I look at a model is what a garment is likely to look like on my body. If I'm looking at a swim suit on a model no where close to my size with no boobs, no tummy and a leg cut that flatters someone with very long legs I have zero idea how it's going to fit me. The ad might as well show it on a clothes hanger.

Seeing body positive ads I think is a good thing. It doesn't mean that's what you're supposed to want to look like. It means that you have nothing to be ashamed of and don't need to be invisible until you're "socially acceptible". Wanting a healthy body is a part of body positivity.
