I went to Costco today and tried to notice every woman in leggings or yoga pants. I saw maybe 7-8 people in them, all ages. All but one had on a tunic length top. That one had on a shorter top and had a larger butt. She did look a bit sloppy, as opposed to the others, who were mostly trim. One woman looked lovely. She had on black leggings and a longer top--a beautiful, flowing, purple top. The long top makes all the difference.

If you think tights/shapewear and yoga pants are the same thing, then you clearly do not know what yoga pants are.

Definitely! Tights are most definitely not even close to the same thing as yoga pants.

if shes wearing a shirt or dress that covers her butt/legs then what does it matter what pants (or lack of pants/underwear) she is wearing ?

Oh, for Pete's sake! The top was long enough to cover her butt, NOT to her knees.

This is encouraging! This thread is leading to eyes being opened and minds being changed, people!! We have, right here, a bright spot in a world of darkness!

Tunic length is typically longer than just butt-covering. Generally, anywhere from midthigh to knee, depending on one's height and/or torso length, is a tunic. Any longer than that is a caftan.

Either can be worn with leggings.

the point of this thread is whether it is appropriate for people to wear skin-tight clothing in public. if you are wearing a body-suit/bikini/speedos/yoga pants/zumba pants/pilates pants/...with a shirt that covers their butt and chest, its the same exact deal as if someone is wearing baggy jeans with a shirt that covers their butt ?

i have seen a lot of women wearing "tights" as if they are yoga pants. just google "tights as pants". you will see many many women and girls out in the streets and stores, etc., wearing tights. tights, not yoga pants. apparently a lot of people are confused that tights are not pants.

I've never seen one single person wearing tights in public as pants. Loads wearing leggings, but not tights. Not even once. Not even in ballet.

Spandex. Lycra. Google: workout tights...you'll find them there, because they're made for working out in...
People wear them when they aren't working out, too.
15 cars parked at Planet Fitness, but 20 women in Super Target shopping in their 'workout clothes'.
Oh well, I still don't want to see everyone's butt and some ladies like to show theirs around town.
To those of you who cover your butt, thanks!
