What do you wear under a dress? (colored, look, long)

I love half slips. They help the skirt slide over the body, instead of tugging. In the 60s everybody wore coulottes. I guess you call them slip shorts now, but I have not seen them for sale in years.
No, slip shorts are more like biker shorts or boy shorts. You can buy them anywhere that women's lingerie is sold. I usually buy mine at either Target or Kohls.
I have an assortment of opaque tights in various colors that I love to pair with dresses in the fall and winter. I get lots of compliments on them! In warmer months I will usually wear bike shorts if I'm going to be doing a lot of walking (or if it's unseasonably hot) because I hate the feeling of sweaty thighs rubbing together. On the rare occasion that I don't wear an additional undergarment I don't find it too uncomfortable, but my dresses are mostly flowy, heavier fabric, and at least knee-length.
Oddly enough I was thinking about this a couple of days ago. I have 2 weddings to attend this year: a niece and my daughter. I was wondering if I could find a slip to wear under the dress I purchased for my niece's wedding. It's kind of clingy so I think a slip would make it look nicer. I really dislike by pale legs so will definitely be wearing pantyhose or thigh high hose.
I don't wear anything under dresses or skirts but bra and underwear. Tights if it's cold. I never wear hosiery other than opaque tights.
I don't buy dresses that can't be won without extra lingerie, as a rule.
Same here. I live in Florida where it is hot and humid year round. I live in sundresses, and never wear additional undergarments. The only exception is if I am wearing a very short dress (which I do for dancing) I will wear tights or fishnets. All of my regular dresses are long enough and thick enough to be worn on their own.
I wear underwear. If it's cold or a specific look/style I am going for I will wear tights. I have a ton of black opaque tights and some grey, brown and maroon ones. I also have some pantyhose I will wear occasionally to work, but I really dislike those because I always get runs in them.
I'm sure some dresses/skirts need something under them, but I don't own any that do.

I find the slip shorts are great for two occasions:
1. being in a humid place and walking around a lot - they are basically thin bike shorts! And more breathable than most panties
2. Great for biking in a flared dress
I wear a slip with a few t-shirt dresses, since I don't own any t-shirt bras and almost all of mine our lacy, some fabrics don't mesh well with those bras. A slip keeps things smooth. The weather here is mild so it doesn't bother me. Easier to find a slip than find a seamless bra (which don't fit me well). I have 3 dresses in particular that really look better with slips. It is also a great way to make a light dress warmer for the fall!
