Hey I have an idea, let's pretend to be shocked and dismayed that a deliberately attention-grabbing outfit is attracting exactly the kind of attention it was designed to attract.
It looks like it would be very difficult to do any sort of strip dancing/stripping in that dress. Risque? Yeah. It doesn't really stand out with some of the dresses on you'd see at the Oscars though. But then there's new wave feminism where women can't dress how they want because they're objectifying to men who are there superiors so they deserve to be called sluts, whores, and strippers by women. It's great when women objectify women and body shame them. New wave feminism being new wave feminism.

There's no such strain of feminism where such shaming is endorsed, though I feel there should be.
Regardless, maybe it wasn't far from an Oscars dress, but that wasn't a Red Carpet kind of program. The contestants deserve more of the focus than her.
I think it looks very tacky, but it doesn't matter what I think or anyone else thinks, as long as she doesn't actually harm anyone else.
And as others have said, she obviously got the reaction she was seeking, which was to get a lot of attention, even if much of it was negative.
